Founded in the Municipality of Red Lake in 1997, Northern Waterworks Inc. (NWI) has emerged as a leader in water and wastewater management across Northern Ontario, operating, maintaining, and managing a variety of facilities. Owned by PUC, a trusted, multi-utility services provider in Northern Ontario for over 100 years, NWI offers economical, expert-driven solutions through an effective shared services model.
Beyond facility management, NWI plays a vital role in supporting Ontario's First Nations communities by offering a range of consulting services, including a 24/7 hotline for technical support and emergency response. This support is provided directly to 127 communities or through partnerships with the Government of Canada’s Department of Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks’ (MECP) Spills Action Centre (SAC).
