Northern Waterworks has provided water and wastewater training to hundreds of operators throughout Northern Ontario. Training programs vary in duration, ranging from 1-day Continuing Education Units (CEU) and refresher courses to extensive 26-week operator training programs. Training programs also vary in delivery, and include both formal classroom “theory” and practical “hands-on” training.
On-site training programs are tailored to the specific needs of the community in which they are delivered. On-site training programs are delivered within the treatment facility and incorporate an even mix of theory and practical hands-on training.
Classroom training facilities for small groups (up to 10 students) are strategically located in Sioux Lookout and Kenora. Small class sizes maximize instructor-student interaction and overall operator participation.
Northern Waterworks Inc. training courses are recognized for Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) by the Ministry of Environment, responsible for the certification of operators and classification of water and wastewater treatment facilities in the Province of Ontario.
